The AMAZING Agawam Lions Club has "stepped up" to donate step stools to the ECC. Pun intended! To pay it forward, the students, families and staff at the ECC have been collecting toiletry items to donate to the Club's Caring Closet. Items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, deodorant, etc. have been donated. For each item a student donated, they received a ticket to enter into a drawing to try and win a gigantic Mr. Incredible balloon. In the picture is our winner, Robert and his brother, Clark. The ECC is still collecting toiletry items until Friday, May 21st.

The ECC staff has been spoiled this week in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week. The ECC Parent Advisory Council reached out to ECC families in search of donations to celebrate our staff. They provided a special treat every day this week. Staff were treated to breakfast, plants, ice cream, sunglasses, positive messages, and Friday's treat is a surprise...shhhh! We want to thank all the families for thinking of us. We are so very grateful!

We had some feathery friends visit the ECC today. Miss Melinda brought in some baby chicks to share with the students. The students loved seeing and learning about them. Thank you Miss Melinda!

We are very happy on this Monday morning at the ECC. We are working 3 ft apart and wearing our masks. It's a great place to be!

We are busy bees at the ECC! Welcome back to 4 days everyone! Enjoy these pictures of our students, families, staff and the ECC.

Happy Monday ECC families! We are so excited for our students to be back to our 4 day in-person program starting April 5th. Students will attend in person on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with Wednesday continuing to be the off day. However, Wednesday will continue to be a virtual time with our amazing PE teacher, Mr. Matt and the choice to use the ECC Google Classroom for all students. Miss Laura's, Miss Rachel's and Miss Crystal's classroom celebrated Read Across America week with many fun days. They dressed up as their favorite characters in this photo.

We've been having lots of learning fun at the ECC. Miss Debbie's and Miss Pam's students dressed up as Leprechauns and went in search of gold. They found lots of it and had a lot of fun.

Miss Debbie's and Miss Pam's students are learning about bears at the ECC. They invited a friend in to learn with them. Mr. Bear came to visit and listened to a read aloud. High fives and smiles were shared by all. Mr. Bear even wore his mask for safety.

ECC students proudly show off the projects they created during a remote learning session. Great job Ava, Eleanora and Cameron!

It is Read Across America Day and wear your favorite/silly hat day at the ECC. Our classrooms had visitors read them a story either virtually or in person. Positive energy and the love of reading were flowing for everyone.

February is Black History month in the United States. Preschoolers at the ECC have been learning about differences, equality, perseverance and believing in yourself from the stories of great African American men and women who have made a difference in our American History. Prekindergarten students, Savannah and Zeynep are using Scholastic News as we learn at the ECC.

Emma G. a member of the ECC team is playing the ukulele during a Google meet. Miss Emma works in Michele Urbinati's classroom. They earned a dance party as a whole class reinforcement for PBIS. Even when we are remote, positive behavior incentives continue.

The ECC was bursting with positive energy today as we welcomed back our students. Students and staff were excited to see each other in person and back in our classrooms.

What happens when you are learning remotely and we have a fire drill at the ECC? Preschool teacher Miss Debbie follows our fire drill procedure and walks her computer with her remote students outside. Even remotely we learn about safety. Great job!

Students started their Monday off by participating in movement breaks while counting forward 1-10 and backward 10-1. What a great way to incorporate counting with movement. Great job Miss Michele's and Miss Cindy's students!
