Students and student athletes joined AHS coaches and staff in the national Wreaths Across America event, held Saturday at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Agawam.
50 students from Ms. Bonavita's history classes at Agawam High enjoyed a day learning about Gilded Age tycoons in New York City on Thursday. Enjoying sites like Grand Central Station, Bryant Park, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Central Park, the Plaza Hotel, and Rockefeller Center, the students had a safe, informative, and festive field trip!
This week the Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Robert Welton visited Agawam High School and spoke to the Forensic, Career Exploration and Healthcare classes about possible careers in that field! This was an incredibly positive experience for students as they connect what they're learning in their classes to the real world and their potential future studies!
Members of the Class of 2024 were awarded John and Abigail Adams scholarships today. This merit-based program provides 8 semesters of free undergraduate tuition at any MA college or university. The award is based on student MCAS scores. Congratulations to all recipients!
AHS Hockey held their annual toy drive last weekend. It was another successful year for the boys! Lots of toys were collected to give back to the community this Christmas . It’s a great example of AHS students and families giving back to the community.

AHS students from a variety of clubs and organizations, such as NHS, SAVE, and Chiefs, are seen organizing toy donations in preparation for tomorrow's Used Toy Drive. Free shopping begins tomorrow at 10am at the public library so all families have access to gifts during the holiday season.

With a start in the snow and ending in the rain, Powder Puff was a success last night! The senior girls dominated with a 12-0 win over the juniors, but the real star of the night was the money and donations raised by Helping Hands for the WMass Food Bank!
Spirit Week at AHS continued today with Color Wars! While each class was assigned a separate hue to wear, we're excited to all come together tomorrow for our Orange and Brown day! Don't forget, PowderPuff football is tonight at 7pm!!

Students Against Violating the Environmental Club are running their annual used toy drive from November 27th through December 1st. Please bring in your used, but in good condition, toys for local community members. Collections will take place during homeroom.
Mr. Russo’s marketing class were some of over 6,000 students who attended the Thunderbirds Symposium today at the Mass Mutual Center. The symposium gives students a look into possible careers into the sports and marketing industries.
National Honor Society Vice President, Dominic, and NHS member, Eden, joined advisors today at the MSAA NHS Massachusetts State Conference in Worcester. Inside each session, students learned about how to uphold and promote the pillars of National Honor Society in our school.
Last night, 35 seniors were inducted into National Honor Society. We are so proud of these exceptional students and all they do for the community. Thus far, students have completed 688 hours of volunteer work in and around Agawam. Congratulations, inductees!
